Whoa darn, this is really awesome. The composition is very original and the photo seems like a mix between artsy and a snapshot from reality. The sparkles of the jewelry and your eye glitter seem to match the flower, like you were a creature MADE to eat them. The blood also seems to symbolize the flower was a living being, something more than a plant, giving this work a subtle gore-factor.

You look utterly monstrous as you devour your prey. This definitely shows death, in spring, from the hungry destruction of the flower and you being a ravenous beast, giving it an untimely demise.

What I like most about this photograph is that it appears you are looking at somebody else and you're NOT going to share your flower with them. It's YOUR dinner/snack and others be damned.
The depth of field is interesting, so is the crop. It's like it's a secret dinner for vampires, you're all dolled up, imagination suggests you're wearing an evening gown, what with the ring and the necklace. The colors match well with the flower, and as red is a hard medium to work with, I think it stands out very well and isn't too harsh or imposing.
I love the ring - it's large and eye catching, but it isn't distracting from the flower, or the blood, of which there is just the right amount. I think more would have been too much.
My suggestion for improvement on this is to run a sharpen filter over it, and blur the eyes so that they have less exposure pixels, especially in the area with make-up.
Other then that, the green of the stem, the red of the flower, and the deeper red of the necklace combined with the black of the ring and the crazed, feral expression work wonders to create a lovely image that is very fitting for a contest.
